The Central Florida Chapter of the AFA is currently working towards drafting legislation that would require all Florida fence contractors to be state licensed. Our intent is to promote a higher level of professionalism in our industry that can only properly be accomplished through uniform policies administered and enforced at the state level rather than the local level.
Many other trades have already succeeded in adopting similar legislation and the fence industry has adopted statewide licensing legislation in states other than Florida (Hawaii, Maryland and California are two of these states).
Approval of statewide licensing is a lengthy process that will take the concerted efforts of our whole organization to make successful. Please support us in this endeavor with your encouragement and constructive feedback as we go through this process.
Mission Statement:
To prepare and become advocates for the passage of legislation that will require statewide licensing for all fence contractors who operate in the State of Florida.
